Video is a unique medium: it
encapsulates the voices, the body movements, and the dynamics of people.
It brings us back to a moment, and allows us to share that moment for
generations on end.
Whether I’m filming a biographical video
or a family reunion, each project is led with the same approach in mind:
to artfully tell a story.
The visual style is about capturing what’s
already there -- simple raw human emotion, natural gestures, and the
surrounding environment. I gently enter and compose myself within a
scene so as not to distract people from acting naturally.
Biographical videos inherently involve
conducting interviews. Upon request, I can also interview guests as they
mingle around an event. This gives your friends and family the chance to
make a toast, describe a memory, express gratitude, or simply express
anything else that moves them.
My objective is to make each video into a multi-generational treasure
piece, with which the experience of watching it become richer and richer
as the years go by. It’s not only in the filming and editing that this
is accomplished. It’s the extra elements: photos, music, letters, and
other personal touches you may wish to include.
